About us
2014
The Gori Grows project began as Manada Gori Gori in 2014 as a group of families looking for a warmer, more attentive alternative to the standard educational system for their youngest members. They created a community where children´s innate nature to develop in their own rhythm and ways are protected, valued and celebrated.
Accompaniment
Having worked in Gori as an educator in this previous configuration we want to continue with the essence, as a small scale local project, providing a highly personalized accompaniment for each child, rooted in the principals of education viva, Montessori, Pikler and the interchange of experiences with similar projects in our community.
English
In addition we now offer a full english immersion experience where children are able to gain grammar and vocabulary in a completely natural and easy way, very much comparable to their mother tongue.
Nature, space and materials
Outdoor play in a natural environment offers limitless potential to our young people. The contact with the earth underfoot or in the vegetable garden the Gori tree that reaches high up to the birds our weekly trips to the Collserola offers vital opportunities to relax the mind, flex the imagination, and the healthy development of the senses. The space to connect with the richness and harmony of nature is a vital element of what we offer.
Curriculum
At Gori Grows we draw from the UK curriculum as a flexible tool, but the primary inspiration for the daily proposals are the areas of interest expressed by the children themselves, their questions, and observations. We also aim to reflect and incorporate emotional events in their lives such as moving house, by for example building a birdhouse in our garden, to create a space to express the feelings and ideas that they harbour.
Educators
All the educators in Gori Grows are experienced qualified professionals with more than 14 years in the area of preschool education. The wealth of experience gathered as a creative english teacher, «madre de dia» and studying libertarian pedagogy has given us the privilege of accompanying our children with astute understanding, observation, love and respect.
After school club!
We are now starting after school club, every Monday and Tuesday where you are welcome to drop and participate in arts and crafts, and theater workshops, story time, and so much more!!
